309. ♪♫ gama no ho-wata ni kurumare to ♪♫
On the evening walk with Jiro yesterday, I noticed cattail fluffs are blown away by the wind. So, today I again visited there with my camera.
Oh, I see! The nursery rhyme, a white hare at Inaba, must have referred to these fluffs. I had thought until this age that the rhyme is saying that the hare be wrapped in the chocolate color cattail in the summer. I feel ashamed that I have lived without fully understanding that line.

308. Space Center
Visited Tukuba Space Center again for the exhibition, held today and tomorrow, of the capsule returned from the ISS orbit last month.
The exhibits are the burned and charred main body still smelling nasty, videos for the recovery works off Torisima, etc. They were very impressive. No pictures here, as refraining from taking photos was requested. Well, it is true that the re-entry technology from the outer space has a delicate aspect.
So, the photos here are those of ordinary exhibitions at other areas.
The left shows the rocket models of the successive generations. The far right is the enhanced Epsiron, which 4th launch is slated for the next month.
The right is the mock-up of ISS's experiment module, Kibou. The cylinder sitting on the module is the storing room, and the front side of the robot arm is the outer experiment area.

307. Persimmon
On the way home, we found persimmon trees with full of fruits at a field close to the museum. So I stopped the car and took this photo.

306. Yatu-ga-take
As the weather has become stable, we visited Nirasaki Omura Art Museum planned a while ago, for the exhibition of the artist painter of the traditional painting, HORI Fumiko, commemorating the 100th anniversary of her birth.
This was originally a private musuem of Dr. OMURA Satosi, the winner of Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 3 years ago.
The photo is Yatu-ga-take seen from the 2nd floor of the museum.

305. Ivy
All of ivy leaves at the entrace of my place have just fallen and this is the last one.
In the autumn long before, their colour had turned to a magnificent red.
However, in recent years, they were either all eaten out by the green caterpillars of a moth coming in the night, or left with a full of holes nibbbled by green beetles or flower chafers.
This year, probably because of the abnormally hot summer, the number of these harmful bugs were unusually small, and the leaves have all remained in fine shape.
Though I have expected their turn to a beautiful red, it is somewhat unfortunate.

304. Walks in the mornings and evenings
We, myself and Jiro, walk twice a day, visiting 5 or 6 parks, totally for about 2 hours, in the mornings and in the evenings.
The shots here are those taken this morning and evening by asking Jiro to wait.
It looks the leaves around here have started changing their colors.
In the evening, the sun sets earlier and the children are playing a soccer in the dark, though it must have started as usual.

Fallen keaves found during the morning walk.
As the green color remains in a strange pattern, I brought it home.
The areas where the green remains are those the two leaves tightly overlapped.

302. Chousi 4 / Inubou-zaki (cape)
The name of Chousi is firmly associated with this place.

301. Chousi 3 / Patrol vessel "Katori"
PM-51 Katori of Chousi Coast Guard.
The second vessel commissioned just 2 years ago.
Acc. to JCG vessel type classification, PL is for large patrol boat, PM for medium and PS for small. Thus this Katori, though large in size, is a medium patrol vessel.

It's always nice to see a harbour.
Um, this port seems to have long remained missing the past lively atmosphere.
